ALL I ASK OF YOU
Here's the deal. I trust your ability to compose a sentence. You're not just a competent writer, you're a good one. You write however much or however little is necessary for the context to make your replies their most effective. You contribute your own twists and ideas; you are not a passive half-hearted collaborator, and neither are your characters -- characters who are more than a jumble of factoids, who are flawed, biased people full of contradictions, and who need something. You know how to develop an engrossing conflict. Your writing makes me look forward to writing back and receiving the next response. You are literate and you know what you're doing.
Because you're also a considerate human being, you respect other people's limits. You understand that a roleplay is not just a game of cut-and-paste. It's something we fabricate together, which means having discussions and negotiating together. You'd rather accommodate me and my input than insist on hitting predetermined plot points, and you can expect me to provide you with the same flexibility. You, like me, want to make this fun for the both of us.
You don't like anybody telling you what sort of character you have to play, and in turn, you don't do that to anyone else. You are polite. You tell me what your preferences are regarding what sort of person you'd like to play, but you don't foist any certain character types on me, especially not because you're trying to set up a perfect romance. You understand that if our characters fall in love, it's because that's what they would do, not because that's the end goal. You would theoretically be entertained, not disappointed, by unrequited love, in either direction. This is all because you are a writer. You enjoy the craft of writing. You roleplay to create fun stories.
Can you agree to all that? Excellent. Let's get this show on the road.

Let me know what you want when you email me -- setting, premise, genre, character preference, odds and ends, any plot offer/request, etc. Please get as specific as you can! I want to hear about what you like, what you're looking for, what you're hoping for... This site lays out all the starting info you need to know about me, and the more you tell me about you (or what you want to write, anyway), the more material I have to bounce off of with my own ideas and the easier it'll be for me to tailor something to you personally.
